About
Flatulence is a PC game being built by one person — me, James Cowie — with no prior game development experience.
You play as Colin, a lone alien who crash-lands in the deserts of Texas. His ship is wrecked, the US military is closing in, and his only option is to harvest methane gas from the local cattle population, repair his UFO, and get out.
That's Act One. Make it to Antarctica and the real game begins — Colin sets up a hidden base, starts abducting cows, and uses them to grow and strengthen his operation. The humour comes from the contrast: a completely serious alien, going about his completely insane business.
Why this devlog exists
I'm documenting the whole build in public — every session, every mistake, every time something that should take 20 minutes takes three days. Not because I have it figured out, but because I don't, and I think that's more interesting to read about.
If you're a solo developer, someone thinking about making a game, or just someone who enjoys watching a person stubbornly refuse to give up on a stupid idea — this is for you.
Where we're at
Development started in early 2026. Colin can now walk. It took longer than I'd like to admit.
